सहदेवस तु संयाय रथेन जग यॊधिनः पातयाम आस नाराचैर दरुमेभ्य इव बर्हिणः ॥ ३-२५५-११ ॥
'And Sahadeva, from his chariot, began to strike down many warriors fighting on elephants with his iron shafts, like birds dropping from the branches of a tree.' ॥ 3-255-11 ॥
english translation
ततस तरिगर्गः सधनुर अवतीर्य महारथात गदया चतुरॊ वाहान राज्ञस तस्य तदावधीत ॥ ३-२५५-१२ ॥
'Then the king of Trigartas, bow in hand, leaped down from his great chariot and slew the four steeds of the king with his mace.' ॥ 3-255-12 ॥
english translation
तम अभ्याशगतं राजा पदातिं कुन्तिनन्दनः अर्धचन्द्रेण बाणेन विव्याधॊरसि धर्मराट ॥ ३-२५५-१३ ॥
'But Kunti’s son, the just king Yudhishthira, seeing his foe advancing so close and fighting on foot, swiftly pierced his breast with a crescent-shaped arrow.' ॥ 3-255-13 ॥

स भिन्नहृदयॊ वीरॊ वक्त्राच छॊणितम ऊद्वमन पपाताभिमुखः पार्थं छिन्नमूल इव दरुमः ॥ ३-२५५-१४ ॥
'And that hero, his chest pierced, began to vomit blood and fell to the ground beside Pritha’s son, like a tree torn from its roots.' ॥ 3-255-14 ॥

इन्द्रसेन दवितीयस तु रथात परस्कन्द्य धर्मराज हताश्वः सहदेवस्य परतिपेदे महारथम ॥ ३-२५५-१५ ॥
'And King Yudhishthira the Just, seeing his steeds slain, swiftly descended from his chariot with Indrasena and mounted Sahadeva’s.' ॥ 3-255-15 ॥
