तं तु शुश्राव धर्मिष्ठं मुद्गलं संशितव्रतम दुर्वासा नृप दिग वासास तम अथाभ्याजगाम ह ॥ ३-२४६-११ ॥
'And, O King, it so happened that upon hearing of the virtuous Mudgala, who was devoted to his vows, the sage Durvasa arrived.' ॥ 3-246-11 ॥
english translation
taM tu zuzrAva dharmiSThaM mudgalaM saMzitavratama durvAsA nRpa diga vAsAsa tama athAbhyAjagAma ha ॥ 3-246-11 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptबिभ्रच चानियतं वेषम उन्मत्त इव पाण्डव विकचः परुषा वाचॊ वयाहरन विविधा मुनिः ॥ ३-२४६-१२ ॥
'He was clad in a simple covering, his appearance wild and disheveled, with his head shaved. As he came, he uttered various insulting words, O Pandava.' ॥ 3-246-12 ॥
english translation
bibhraca cAniyataM veSama unmatta iva pANDava vikacaH paruSA vAcò vayAharana vividhA muniH ॥ 3-246-12 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअभिगम्याथ तं विप्रम उवाच मुनिसत्तमः अन्नार्थिनम अनुप्राप्तं विद्धि मां मुनिसत्तम ॥ ३-२४६-१३ ॥
'And having arrived there, the best of the sages said to the Brahmana, 'Know, O foremost of Brahmanas, that I have come here seeking food.'' ॥ 3-246-13 ॥
english translation
abhigamyAtha taM viprama uvAca munisattamaH annArthinama anuprAptaM viddhi mAM munisattama ॥ 3-246-13 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसवागतं ते ऽसत्व इति मुनिं मुद्गलः परत्यभाषत पाद्यम आचमनीयं च परतिवेद्यान्नम उत्तमम ॥ ३-२४६-१४ ॥
'Then, Mudgala said to the sage, 'You are welcome!' And, after offering the hungry ascetic water to wash his feet and mouth, he, who was devoted to the vow of honoring guests, respectfully placed before him an exquisite meal.'' ॥ 3-246-14 ॥

savAgataM te 'satva iti muniM mudgalaH paratyabhASata pAdyama AcamanIyaM ca parativedyAnnama uttamama ॥ 3-246-14 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपरादात स तपसॊपात्तं कषुधितायातिथि वरती उन्मत्ताय परां शरद्धाम आस्थाय स धृतव्रतः ॥ ३-२४६-१५ ॥
'In steadfast devotion to his vows, the sage shared his hard-earned food - food that he had obtained through rigorous spiritual penance. ' ॥ 3-246-15 ॥
