अर्जुनॊ यमजौ चॊभौ दरौपदी च यशस्विनी स च भीमॊ महातेजाः सर्वेषाम उत्तमॊ बली युधिष्ठिरम उदीक्षन्तः सेहुर दुःखम अनुत्तमम ॥ ३-२४५-६ ॥
'Arjuna, the twin brothers, the illustrious Draupadī, and mighty Bhīma—the strongest of all—endured the deepest anguish as they cast their eyes upon Yudhishthira.' ॥ 3-245-6 ॥
english translation
अवशिष्टम अल्पकालं मन्वानाः पुरुषर्षभाः वपुर अन्यद इवाकार्षुर उत्साहामर्श चेष्टितैः ॥ ३-२४५-७ ॥
'Yet, knowing that only a short time remained of their exile, those bulls among men, driven by both wrath and hope, subjected themselves to intense exertion and discipline, transforming their very bodies in preparation for what lay ahead.' ॥ 3-245-7 ॥

कस्य चित तव अथ कालस्य वयासः सत्यवती सुतः आजगाम महायॊगी पाण्डवान अवलॊककः ॥ ३-२४५-८ ॥
'After some time, the great ascetic Vyāsa, son of Satyavatī, arrived there to visit the Pāṇḍavas.' ॥ 3-245-8 ॥

तम आगतम अभिप्रेक्ष्य कुन्तीपुत्रॊ युधिष्ठिरः परत्युद्गम्य महात्मानं परत्यगृह्णाद यथाविधि ॥ ३-२४५-९ ॥
'And as he approached, Kuntī's son, Yudhishthira, stepped forward and received the high-souled sage with due reverence.' ॥ 3-245-9 ॥

तम आसीनम उपासीनः शुश्रूषुर नियतेन्द्रियः तॊषयन परणिपातेन वयासं पाण्डवनन्दनः ॥ ३-२४५-१० ॥
'Having honored Vyāsa with a reverential bow, Pāṇḍu’s son, his senses restrained, sat before the sage after he had taken his seat, eager to listen to his words.' ॥ 3-245-10 ॥
