तस्य चिन्तापरीतस्य बुद्धिजज्ञे महात्मनः बहु वयालमृगाकीर्णं तयक्तुं दवैतवनं वनम ॥ ३-२४३-२१ ॥
'And that high-souled one, filled with anxiety, resolved to abandon the woods of Dwaitavana, which were teeming with ferocious beasts.' ॥ 3-243-21 ॥
english translation
tasya cintAparItasya buddhijajJe mahAtmanaH bahu vayAlamRgAkIrNaM tayaktuM davaitavanaM vanama ॥ 3-243-21 ॥

'Meanwhile, the royal son of Dhritarashtra began to govern the earth, accompanied by his heroic brothers, as well as Bhishma, Drona, and Kripa.' ॥ 3-243-22 ॥

dhArtarASTrò 'pi nRpatiH parazazAsa vasuMdharAma bharAtRbhiH sahitò vIraira bhISmadròNakRpaisa tathA ॥ 3-243-22 ॥

'With the assistance of Karna, the Suta’s son, crowned with martial glory, Duryodhana remained ever devoted to the welfare of the kings of the earth. He worshipped the foremost Brahmanas by performing sacrifices and offering abundant gifts.' ॥ 3-243-23 ॥

saMgamya sUtaputreNa karNenAhava zòbhinA duryòdhanaH pariye nityaM vartamAnò mahIpatiH pUjayAma Asa viprendrAna karatubhira bhUridakSiNaiH ॥ 3-243-23 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptभरातॄणां च परियं राजन स चकार परंतपः निश्चित्य मनसा वीरॊ दत्तभुक्त फलं धनम ॥ ३-२४३-२४ ॥
'And that hero, the subduer of foes, O king, was engaged in benefitting his brothers, firmly concluding in his mind that the true purpose of wealth is in giving and enjoying.' ॥ 3-243-24 ॥
