परत्यक्षं तव गान्धारे ससैन्यस्य विशां पते सूतपुत्रॊ ऽपयाद भीतॊ गन्धर्वाणां तदा रणात करॊशतस तव राजेन्द्र ससैन्यस्य नृपात्मज ॥ ३-२४१-६ ॥
'Even in your presence, O son of Gāndhārī, and before your entire army, the son of a Sūta, Karṇa, fled in terror from the battle against the Gāndharvas. O foremost of kings, while you and your forces cried out in distress.' ॥ 3-241-6 ॥
