सथिरां कृत्वा बुद्धिम अस्य परियाण्य उक्त्वा च भारत गम्यताम इत्य अनुज्ञाय जयम आप्नुहि चेत्य अथ ॥ ३-२४०-२६ ॥
'And, O Bharata, soothing his mind with gentle words, they permitted him to depart, saying, ‘Go forth and achieve victory!’' ॥ 3-240-26 ॥
english translation
तैर विसृष्टं महाबाहुं कृत्या सैवानयत पुनः तम एव देशं यत्रासौ तदा परायम उपाविशत ॥ ३-२४०-२७ ॥
'Then, when the mighty-armed one had been thus dismissed, that very goddess carried him back to the spot where he had been seated, intent on ending his life.' ॥ 3-240-27 ॥

परतिनिक्षिप्य तं वीरं कृत्या समभिपूज्य च अनुज्ञाता च राज्ञा सा तत्रैवान्तरधीयत ॥ ३-२४०-२८ ॥
'Vaisampayana continued: And when she had thus departed with the king’s permission, Duryodhana, upon reflecting on all that had transpired, deemed it but a dream.' ॥ 3-240-28 ॥

गतायाम अथ तस्यां तु राजा दुर्यॊधनस तदा सवप्नभूतम इदं सर्वम अचिन्तयत भारत विजेष्यमै रणे पाण्डून इति तस्याभवन मतिः ॥ ३-२४०-२९ ॥
'Then at that time, King Duryodhana thought all this was like a dream, O Bharata. His mindset was 'I will defeat the Pandavas in battle.'' ॥ 3-240-29 ॥

कर्णं संशप्तकांश चैव पार्थस्यामित्र घातिनः अमन्यत वधे युक्तान समर्थांश च सुयॊधनः ॥ ३-२४०-३० ॥
'And Suyodhana believed that Karna and the Samsaptaka army, both capable and determined, would succeed in destroying Partha, the slayer of foes.' ॥ 3-240-30 ॥
