अभिक्रुद्धान अभिप्रेक्ष्य गन्धर्वान अर्जुनस तदा लक्षयित्वाथ दिव्यानि महास्त्राण्य उपचक्रमे ॥ ३-२३४-६ ॥

'Then, Arjuna, his anger provoked, aimed at the furious Gandharvas and prepared to unleash his celestial weapons upon them.' ॥ 3-234-6 ॥

english translation

abhikruddhAna abhiprekSya gandharvAna arjunasa tadA lakSayitvAtha divyAni mahAstrANya upacakrame ॥ 3-234-6 ॥

सहस्राणां सहस्रं स पराहिणॊद यमसादनम आग्नेयेनार्जुनः संख्ये गन्धर्वाणां बलॊत्कटः ॥ ३-२३४-७ ॥

'In that encounter, the mighty Arjuna, wielding his Agneya weapon, sent hundreds of thousands of Gandharvas to the abode of Yama.' ॥ 3-234-7 ॥

तथा भीमॊ महेष्वासः संयुगे बलिनां वरः गन्धर्वाञ शतशॊ राजञ जघान निशितैः शरैः ॥ ३-२३४-८ ॥

'And that mighty bowman, Bhima, the foremost of warriors in battle, slew hundreds of Gandharvas with his sharp arrows.' ॥ 3-234-8 ॥

माद्रीपुत्राव अपि तथा युध्यमानौ बलॊत्कटौ परिगृह्याग्रतॊ राजञ जघ्नतुः शतशः परान ॥ ३-२३४-९ ॥

'And the mighty sons of Madri, fighting with great vigor, encountered hundreds of Gandharvas, O King, and slew them all.' ॥ 3-234-9 ॥

'As the Gandharvas were being slaughtered by the mighty warriors with their celestial weapons, they ascended into the skies, carrying with them the sons of Dhritarashtra.' ॥ 3-234-10 ॥

te vadhyamAnA gandharvA divyaira astraira mahAtmabhiH utpetuH khama upAdAya dhRtarASTra sutAMsa tataH ॥ 3-234-10 ॥
