तेनैकेन यथादिष्टं तथा वर्ताम भारत न शास्ता विद्यते ऽसमाकम अन्यस तस्मात सुरेश्वरात ॥ ३-२३३-१६ ॥
'O Bharata, we always act according to the commands of that one sole being! Besides that celestial lord, there is none who can command us!' ॥ 3-233-16 ॥
english translation
tenaikena yathAdiSTaM tathA vartAma bhArata na zAstA vidyate 'samAkama anyasa tasmAta surezvarAta ॥ 3-233-16 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएवम उक्तस तु गन्धर्वैः कुन्तीपुत्रॊ धनंजयः गन्धर्वान पुनर एवेदं वचनं परत्यभाषत ॥ ३-२३३-१७ ॥
'Thus addressed by the Gandharvas, the son of Kunti, Dhananjaya, spoke these words once again to the Gandharvas.' ॥ 3-233-17 ॥
english translation
evama uktasa tu gandharvaiH kuntIputrò dhanaMjayaH gandharvAna punara evedaM vacanaM paratyabhASata ॥ 3-233-17 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयदि साम्ना न मॊक्षध्वं गन्धर्वा धृतराष्ट्रजम मॊक्षयिष्यामि विक्रम्य सवयम एव सुयॊधनम ॥ ३-२३३-१८ ॥
'If, however, the Gandharvas do not set the son of Dhritarashtra free peacefully, I shall, with my might, personally rescue Suyodhana.' ॥ 3-233-18 ॥
english translation
yadi sAmnA na mòkSadhvaM gandharvA dhRtarASTrajama mòkSayiSyAmi vikramya savayama eva suyòdhanama ॥ 3-233-18 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएवम उक्त्वा ततः पार्थः सव्यसाची धनंजयः ससर्व निशितान बाणान खचरान खचरान परति ॥ ३-२३३-१९ ॥
'And speaking thus to them, Dhananjaya, the son of Pritha, who was adept at wielding the bow with both hands, unleashed a shower of sharp, sky-ranging arrows upon those rangers of the heavens.' ॥ 3-233-19 ॥

evama uktvA tataH pArthaH savyasAcI dhanaMjayaH sasarva nizitAna bANAna khacarAna khacarAna parati ॥ 3-233-19 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतथैव शरवर्षेण गन्धर्वास ते बलॊत्कटाः पाण्डवान अभ्यवर्तन्त पाण्डवाश च दिवौकसः ॥ ३-२३३-२० ॥
'Thus assailed, the mighty Gandharvas, in turn, responded by unleashing a dense shower of arrows upon the sons of Pandu, who, with equal valor, returned the attack, striking back at those heavenly beings.' ॥ 3-233-20 ॥

tathaiva zaravarSeNa gandharvAsa te balòtkaTAH pANDavAna abhyavartanta pANDavAza ca divaukasaH ॥ 3-233-20 ॥
