क इहान्यॊ भवेत तराणम अभिधावेति चॊदितः पराञ्जलिं शरणापन्नं दृष्ट्वा शत्रुम अपि धरुवम ॥ ३-२३२-११ ॥
'You, who have been called upon with words like 'O hasten to my aid!' Who among those standing here is noble enough to assist even his foe, upon seeing him seek shelter with folded hands?"' ॥ 3-232-11 ॥
english translation
वरप्रदानं राज्यं च पुत्र जन्म च पाण्डव शत्रॊश च मॊक्षणं कलेशात तरीणि चैकं च तत समम ॥ ३-२३२-१२ ॥
'The bestowal of a boon, sovereignty, and the birth of a son are sources of great joy. But, O sons of Pandu, the liberation of a foe from distress is greater than all three combined!' ॥ 3-232-12 ॥
english translation
किं हय अभ्यधिकम एतस्माद यद आपन्नः सुयॊधनः तवद बाहुबलम आश्रित्य जीवितं परिमार्गति ॥ ३-२३२-१३ ॥
'What could bring you more joy than seeing Duryodhana, sunk in distress, seeking his very life from the might of your arms?"' ॥ 3-232-13 ॥

सवयम एव परधावेयं यदि न सयाद वृकॊदर विततॊ ऽयं करतुर वीर न हि मे ऽतर विचारणा ॥ ३-२३२-१४ ॥
'O Vrikodara, if the vow I have undertaken were over, there is no doubt that I would have rushed to his aid myself.' ॥ 3-232-14 ॥

साम्नैव तु यथा भीम मॊक्षयेथाः सुयॊधनम तथा सर्वैर उपायैस तवं यतेथाः कुरुनन्दन ॥ ३-२३२-१५ ॥
'O Bhima, by using conciliation (peaceful means), you should try to free Suyodhana (Duryodhana). O joy of the Kurus, you should strive using all means to achieve this.' ॥ 3-232-15 ॥
