[य] अस्मान अभिगतांस तात भयार्ताञ शरणैषिणः कौरवान विषमप्राप्तान कथं बरूयास तम ईदृशम ॥ ३-२३२-१ ॥
'Yudhishthira said, "O child, why do you speak in such a manner toward the frightened Kurus, who are now in distress and have come to us seeking refuge?"' ॥ 3-232-1 ॥
english translation
भवन्ति भेदा जञातीनां कलहाश च वृकॊदर परसक्तानि च वैराणि जञातिधर्मॊ न नश्यति ॥ ३-२३२-२ ॥
'O Vrikodara, divisions and disputes do arise among those bound by blood, and hostilities may persist. Yet, the honor of the family is never allowed to be tarnished.' ॥ 3-232-2 ॥
english translation
यदा तु कश चिज जञातीनां बाह्यः परार्थयते कुलम न मर्षयन्ति तत सन्तॊ बाह्येनाभिप्रमर्षणम ॥ ३-२३२-३ ॥
'When a stranger seeks to insult the family's honor, those who are virtuous never tolerate such an affront.' ॥ 3-232-3 ॥
english translation
जानाति हय एष दुर्बुद्धिर अस्मान इह चिरॊषितान स एष परिभूयास्मान अकार्षीद इदम अप्रियम ॥ ३-२३२-४ ॥
'The wicked-hearted king of the Gandharvas knows that we have been living here for some time. Yet, in spite of this, he has done this act, which is deeply disagreeable to us!' ॥ 3-232-4 ॥

दुर्यॊधनस्य गरहणाद गन्धर्वेण बलाद रणे सत्रीणां बाह्याभिमर्शाच च हतं भवति नः कुलम ॥ ३-२३२-५ ॥
'O exalted one, due to this forcible seizure by Duryodhana and the insult to the women of our house by a stranger, our family’s honor is being shattered.' ॥ 3-232-5 ॥
