न साम्ना परतिपद्येत यदि गन्धर्वराड असौ पराक्रमेण मृदुना मॊक्षयेथाः सुयॊधनम ॥ ३-२३२-१६ ॥
'If, however, the king of the Gandharvas cannot be swayed by the arts of conciliation, then you must attempt to rescue Suyodhana by lightly skirmishing with the enemy.' ॥ 3-232-16 ॥
english translation
अथासौ मृदु युद्धेन न मुञ्चेद भीमकौरवान सर्वॊपायैर विमॊच्यास ते निगृह्य परिपन्थिनः ॥ ३-२३२-१७ ॥
'But if the Gandharva chief does not release the Kurus even then, they must be rescued by defeating the enemy through all means.' ॥ 3-232-17 ॥
english translation
एतावद धि मया शक्यं संदेष्टुं वै वृकॊदर वैताने कर्मणि तते वर्तमाने च भारत ॥ ३-२३२-१८ ॥
'O Vrikodara, this is all I can say to you now, for my vow has begun and is yet unfinished!' ॥ 3-232-18 ॥
english translation
[वै] अजातशत्रॊर वचनं तच छरुत्वा तु धनंजयः परतिजज्ञे गुरॊर वाक्यं कौरवाणां विमॊक्षणम ॥ ३-२३२-१९ ॥
'Vaisampayana continued, "Hearing the words of Ajatasatru, Dhananjaya, out of respect for the commands of his superior, pledged himself to liberate the Kauravas."' ॥ 3-232-19 ॥

[अर्ज] यदि साम्ना न मॊक्ष्यन्ति गन्धवा धृतराष्ट्रजान अद्य गन्धर्वराजस्य भूमिः पास्यति शॊणितम ॥ ३-२३२-२० ॥
'Arjuna said, "If the Gandharvas do not release the Dhartarashtras peacefully, then today the Earth shall drink the blood of the Gandharva king!"' ॥ 3-232-20 ॥
