दविषतां च परहर्षॊ ऽभूद आर्तिश चाद्विषताम अपि एवं विजितवान वीर पश्चाद अश्रौषम अच्युत ॥ ३-२३-१६ ॥

'There was delight among the enemies, and distress among non-enemies as well. In this way, O hero, you conquered, and afterwards I heard, O Infallible One.' ॥ 3-23-16 ॥

english translation

ततॊ ऽहम अस्त्रं दयितं सर्वपाषाण भेदनम वज्रम उद्यम्य तान सर्वान पर्वतान समशातयम ॥ ३-२३-१७ ॥

'Wielding the thunderbolt, Indra’s favored weapon capable of shattering stones, I demolished the entire mass of crags.' ॥ 3-23-17 ॥

english translation

ततः पर्वत भारार्ता मन्दप्राणविचेष्टिताः हया मम महाराज वेपमाना इवाभवन ॥ ३-२३-१८ ॥

'My steeds, weighed down and nearly at death’s door, began to tremble.' ॥ 3-23-18 ॥

english translation

मेघजालम इवाकाशे विदार्याभ्युदितं रविम दृष्ट्वा मां बान्धवाः सर्वे हर्षम आहारयन पुनः ॥ ३-२३-१९ ॥

'Yet, seeing me safe, my friends rejoiced once more, much like people celebrate the rising sun after a storm has passed.' ॥ 3-23-19 ॥

english translation

ततॊ माम अब्रवीत सूतः पराञ्जलिः परणतॊ नृप साधु संपश्य वार्ष्णेय शाल्वं सौभपतिं सथितम ॥ ३-२३-२० ॥

'Seeing my horses, nearly exhausted from the weight of the stones, my charioteer spoke to me with urgency: 'O Vrishni, look! Salwa, the master of the chariot of precious metals, is over there.'' ॥ 3-23-20 ॥
