[जनम] एवं वने वर्तमाना नराग्र्याः; शीतॊष्णवातातप कर्शिताङ्गाः सरस तद आसाद्य वनं च पुण्यं; ततः परं किम अकुर्वन्त पार्थाः ॥ ३-२२५-१ ॥

sanskrit

'Janamejaya said, "While those foremost of men—the sons of Pritha—were enduring the hardships of winter, summer, wind, and sun in the forest, what did they do, O Brahmana, after they arrived at the sacred lake and forest known as Dwaita?"' ॥ 3-225-1 ॥

english translation

[janama] evaM vane vartamAnA narAgryAH; zItòSNavAtAtapa karzitAGgAH sarasa tada AsAdya vanaM ca puNyaM; tataH paraM kima akurvanta pArthAH ॥ 3-225-1 ॥
