अष्टाशीति सहस्राणि सनातका गृहमेधिनः तरिंशद दासीक एकैकॊ यान बिभर्ति युधिष्ठिरः ॥ ३-२२२-४१ ॥
'Additionally, eighty thousand Brahmanas of the Snataka sect, leading domestic lives, were entertained by Yudhishthira, each being assigned thirty serving-maids.' ॥ 3-222-41 ॥
english translation
दशान्यानि सहस्राणि येषाम अन्नं सुसंस्कृतम हरियते रुक्मपात्रीभिर यतीनाम ऊर्ध्वरेतसाम ॥ ३-२२२-४२ ॥
'Besides these, ten thousand ascetics, whose vital energy was directed upwards, had their pure food served to them on golden plates.' ॥ 3-222-42 ॥
english translation
तान सर्वान अग्रहारेण बराह्मणान बरह्मवादिनः यथार्हं पूजयामि सम पानाच छादनभॊजनैः ॥ ३-२२२-४३ ॥
'All these Brahmanas, who were the utterers of the Vedas, I used to worship properly with food, drink, and raiment, taken from stores only after a portion had been dedicated to the Viswadevas.' ॥ 3-222-43 ॥
english translation
शतं दासी सहस्राणि कौन्तेयस्य महात्मनः कम्बुकेयूर धारिण्यॊ निष्ककण्ठ्यॊ सवलंकृताः ॥ ३-२२२-४४ ॥
'The noble son of Kunti, Yudhishthira, had a hundred thousand serving-maids, adorned in fine garments, with bracelets on their arms and golden ornaments around their necks.' ॥ 3-222-44 ॥

महार्हमाल्याभरणाः सुवर्णाश चन्दनॊक्षिताः मणीन हेमच बिभ्रत्यॊ नृत्यगीतविशारदाः ॥ ३-२२२-४५ ॥
'They were decked with beautiful garlands and wreaths, their bodies adorned with abundant gold, and anointed with fragrant sandal paste. And adorned with jewels and gold they were all skilled in singing and dancing.' ॥ 3-222-45 ॥
