महिषॊ ऽपि रथं दृष्ट्वा रौद्रं रुद्रस्य नानदत देवान संत्रासयंश चापि दैत्यांश चापि परहर्षयन ॥ ३-२२१-६१ ॥

'Fiery Mahisha, pleased with the prize he had claimed—the chariot of Rudra—let out a fearsome war-cry, causing great alarm among the gods and bringing joy to the Daityas.' ॥ 3-221-61 ॥

english translation

ततस तस्मिन भये घॊरे देवानां समुपस्थिते आजगाम महासेनः करॊधात सूर्य इव जवलन ॥ ३-२२१-६२ ॥

'When the gods found themselves in that dire situation, the mighty Mahasena, burning with anger and appearing as grand as the Sun, advanced to their rescue.' ॥ 3-221-62 ॥

english translation

लॊहिताम्बर संवीतॊ लॊहितस्रग्वि भूषणः लॊहितास्यॊ महाबाहुर हिरण्यकवचः परभुः ॥ ३-२२१-६३ ॥

'And that lordly being, clad in resplendent red, was adorned with a wreath of red flowers. Encased in golden armor, he rode in a chariot of gold, shining like the Sun, drawn by horses of chestnut hue.' ॥ 3-221-63 ॥

english translation

रथम आदित्यसंकाशम आस्थितः कनकप्रभम तं दृष्ट्वा दैत्य सेना सा वयद्रवत सहसा रणे ॥ ३-२२१-६४ ॥

'Radiant like the first sun, stationed brilliantly golden, seeing him, the demon army suddenly fled in the battle.' ॥ 3-221-64 ॥

english translation

स चापि तां परज्वलितां महिषस्य विदारिणीम मुमॊच शक्तिं राजेन्द्र महासेनॊ महाबलः ॥ ३-२२१-६५ ॥

'O great king, the mighty Mahasena hurled a radiant Sakti to annihilate Mahisha. The weapon severed Mahisha's head, and he fell to the ground, lifeless.' ॥ 3-221-65 ॥
