विजिघांसुं तद आयान्तं कुमारः शक्रम अभ्ययात विनदन पथि शक्रस तु दरुतं याति महाबलः संहर्षयन देवसेनां जिघांसुः पावकात्मजम ॥ ३-२१६-५ ॥
'The prince advanced towards Indra, who was coming to attack, roaring on the path. The mighty Indra swiftly proceeded, exciting the divine army, seeking to destroy the son of fire (Kartikeya).' ॥ 3-216-5 ॥
