तयक्तॊ देवैस ततः सकन्दे वज्रं शक्राभ्यवासृजत तद विसृष्टं जघानाशु पार्श्वं सकन्दस्य दक्षिणम बिभेद च महाराज पार्श्वं तस्य महात्मनः ।। ३-२१६-१२ ।।

sanskrit

'When Sakra, forsaken by the gods, hurled his thunderbolt at Skanda, it struck him on the right side, piercing through the body of that high-souled being. And from the wound caused by the thunderbolt, there emerged another being— a youthful figure, armed with a club and adorned with a celestial amulet.' ।। 3-216-12 ।।

tayaktò devaisa tataH sakande vajraM zakrAbhyavAsRjata tada visRSTaM jaghAnAzu pArzvaM sakandasya dakSiNama bibheda ca mahArAja pArzvaM tasya mahAtmanaH || 3-216-12 ||
