बिभेद स शरैः शैलं करौञ्चं हिमवतः सुतम तेन हंसाश च गृघ्राश च मेरुं गच्छन्ति पर्वतम ॥ ३-२१४-३१ ॥

'With those arrows, the hill Krauncha, the son of Himavat, was split asunder. This is why swans and vultures now migrate to the Sumeru mountains.' ॥ 3-214-31 ॥

english translation

स विशीर्णॊ ऽपतच छैलॊ भृशम आर्तस्वरान रुवन तस्मिन निपतिते तव अन्ये नेदुः शैला भृशं भयात ॥ ३-२१४-३२ ॥

'The Krauncha hill, grievously wounded, fell, emitting fearful groans. Upon seeing it fall, the other hills too began to cry out.' ॥ 3-214-32 ॥

english translation

स तं नादं भृशार्तानां शरुत्वापि बलिनां वरः न पराव्यथद अमेयात्मा शक्तिम उद्यम्य चानदत ॥ ३-२१४-३३ ॥

'Yet, the mighty being of unmatched strength, hearing the cries of the afflicted, remained unmoved. Instead, he raised his mace and let out a war cry.' ॥ 3-214-33 ॥

english translation

सा तदा विपुला शक्तिः कषिप्ता तेन महात्मना बिभेद शिखरं घॊरं शवेतस्य तरसा गिरौ ॥ ३-२१४-३४ ॥

'Then, that high-souled being, wielding his mace of great brilliance, swiftly struck and split one of the peaks of the White Mountain in twain.' ॥ 3-214-34 ॥

english translation

स तेनाभिहतॊ दीनॊ गिरिः शवेतॊ ऽचलैः सह उत्पपात महीं तयक्त्वा भीतस तस्मान महात्मनः ॥ ३-२१४-३५ ॥

'Thus pierced by him, the White Mountain, greatly afraid, detached itself from the earth and fled, accompanied by the other mountains.' ॥ 3-214-35 ॥
