यद्य अग्नयॊ हि सपृश्येयुर निवेशस्था दवाग्निना इष्टिर अष्टाकपालेन कार्या तु शुचये ऽगनये ।। ३-२११-२६ ।।

'If the fires in their designated places, called Nivesa, come into contact with the fire known as Devagni, the Ashtakapala rites must be performed in honor of the fire Suchi for rectification.' ।। 3-211-26 ।।

yadya agnayò hi sapRzyeyura nivezasthA davAgninA iSTira aSTAkapAlena kAryA tu zucaye 'ganaye || 3-211-26 ||

'And if the perpetual fire is touched by a woman during her monthly course, rectification must be made by performing the Ashtakapala rites in honor of the fire called Dasyuman.' ।। 3-211-27 ।।

'If, at the time of performing the Agnihotra rites, the death of any creature is mentioned, or if animals die, then rectification must be made by performing the Ashtakapala rites in honor of the Suraman fire.' ।। 3-211-28 ।।

'A Brahmana who, due to illness, is unable to offer oblations to the sacred fire for three nights, must atone for this lapse by performing the Ashtakapala rites in honor of the northern fire.' ।। 3-211-29 ।।

Artò na juhuyAda agniM tarirAtraM yasa tu barAhmaNaH iSTira aSTAkapAlena kAryA sayAda uttarAgnaye || 3-211-29 ||
