ततॊ ऽहं कौरवश्रेष्ठ शरुत्वा सर्वम अशेषतः विनाशे शाल्वराजस्य तदैवाकरवं मतिम ॥ ३-२१-६ ॥
'O foremost of the Bharatas, hearing all that had occurred, I immediately resolved to slay Salwa.' ॥ 3-21-6 ॥

ततॊ ऽहं भरतश्रेष्ठ समाश्वास्य पुरे जनम राजानम आहुकं चैव तथैवानक दुन्दुभिम सर्ववृष्णिप्रवीरांश च हर्षयन्न अब्रुवं तदा ॥ ३-२१-७ ॥
'With a firm heart, I reassured the citizens and addressed King Ahuka, Anakdundhuvi, and the chief warriors of the Vrishni race, cheering them with encouraging words.' ॥ 3-21-7 ॥
english translation
अप्रमादः सदा कार्यॊ नगरे यादवर्षभाः शाल्वराजविनाशाय परयातं मां निबॊधत ॥ ३-२१-८ ॥
'O mighty Yadavas, remain here in the city with vigilance, for I go to destroy Salwa.' ॥ 3-21-8 ॥
english translation
नाहत्वा तं निवर्तिष्ये पुरीं दवारवतीं परति सशाल्वं सौभनगरं हत्वा दरष्टास्मि वः पुनः तरिसामा हन्यताम एषा दुन्दुभिः शत्रुभीषणी ॥ ३-२१-९ ॥
'I shall not return to Dwaravati without having slain him. I will come back to you only after having obliterated Salwa along with his gleaming metal car. Strike up the sharp, middle, and flat notes of the Dundubhi, so dreadful to foes!' ॥ 3-21-9 ॥

ते मयाश्वासिता वीरा यथावद भरतर्षभ सर्वे माम अब्रुवन हृष्टाः परयाहि जहि शत्रवान ॥ ३-२१-१० ॥
'Encouraged thus, O bull of the Bharata race, those heroes cheerfully responded, "Go and slay the enemies!"' ॥ 3-21-10 ॥
