वयाजेन चरते धर्मम अर्थं वयाजेन रॊचते वयाजेन सिध्यमानेषु धनेषु दविजसत्तम तत्रैव रमते बुद्धिस ततः पापं चिकीर्षति ॥ ३-२०१-६ ॥
'Practicing virtue with hypocrisy, they are content to amass wealth through dishonorable means. With the wealth they acquire, their intellect becomes enamored of these wrongful paths, and they are consumed with a desire to commit sins.' ॥ 3-201-6 ॥
english translation
सुहृद्भिर वार्यमाणश च पण्डितैश च दविजॊत्तम उत्तरं शरुतिसंबद्धं बरवीति शरुतियॊजितम ॥ ३-२०१-७ ॥
'And when, O noble Brahmana, their friends and wise men admonish them, they respond with clever but hollow answers, which are neither sound nor convincing.' ॥ 3-201-7 ॥

अधर्मस तरिविधस तस्य वर्धते रागदॊषतः पापं चिन्तयते चापि बरवीति च करॊति च ॥ ३-२०१-८ ॥
'Due to their attachment to wrongful paths, they incur a threefold sin.' ॥ 3-201-8 ॥

तस्याधर्मप्रवृत्तस्य गुणा नश्यन्ति साधवः एकशीलाश च मित्रत्वं भजन्ते पापकर्मिणः ॥ ३-२०१-९ ॥
'They sin in thought, word, and deed. Enslaved by wicked ways, all their virtues fade away, and these men of evil conduct seek the company of others like themselves.' ॥ 3-201-9 ॥

स तेनासुखम आप्नॊति परत्र च विहन्यते पापात्मा भवति हय एवं धर्मलाभं तु मे शृणु ॥ ३-२०१-१० ॥
'As a result, they endure suffering in both this world and the next. The sinful man is of this nature, but now listen to the description of the virtuous man.' ॥ 3-201-10 ॥
