यॊ यम इच्छेद यथाकामं तं तं कामं समश्नुयात यदि सयाद अपराधीनं पुरुषस्य करियाफलम ॥ ३-२००-८ ॥

sanskrit

'And if the fruits of our exertion were not dependent on anything else, people would achieve the object of their desire merely by striving for it.' ॥ 3-200-8 ॥

english translation

yò yama iccheda yathAkAmaM taM taM kAmaM samaznuyAta yadi sayAda aparAdhInaM puruSasya kariyAphalama ॥ 3-200-8 ॥
