शब्दं सपर्शं तथारूपं गन्धान इष्टांश च सत्तम परभुत्वं लभते चापि धर्मस्यैतत फलं विदुः ।। ३-२००-४६ ।।

sanskrit

'Virtuous people, O noble one, attain dominion over all things and enjoy the pleasures of beauty, taste, sound, and touch, according to their desires.' ।। 3-200-46 ।।

english translation

zabdaM saparzaM tathArUpaM gandhAna iSTAMza ca sattama parabhutvaM labhate cApi dharmasyaitata phalaM viduH || 3-200-46 ||

'These are recognized as the rewards of virtue. However, the man of enlightened vision, O great Brahmana, is not satisfied with merely reaping the fruits of righteousness. Not content with this, he, guided by the light of spiritual wisdom within him, becomes indifferent to both pain and pleasure, and is unaffected by the vices of the world.' ।। 3-200-47 ।।

dharmasya ca phalaM labdhvA na tRpyati mahAdvija atRpyamANò nirvedama Adatte jaJAnacakSuSA || 3-200-47 ||
