अहिंसेति यद उक्तं हि पुरुषैर विस्मितैः पुरा के न हिंसन्ति जीवन वै लॊके ऽसमिन दविजसत्तम बहु संचिन्त्य इह वै नास्ति कश चिद अहिंसकः ।। ३-१९९-२८ ।।

sanskrit

'The commandment that people should not harm any creature was established long ago by those who were unaware of the true facts. For, O Brahmana, there is not a single person on this earth who is free from the sin of causing injury to living beings. Upon careful reflection, it becomes clear that no one is truly free from the sin of harming animal life.' ।। 3-199-28 ।।

english translation

ahiMseti yada uktaM hi puruSaira vismitaiH purA ke na hiMsanti jIvana vai lòke 'samina davijasattama bahu saMcintya iha vai nAsti kaza cida ahiMsakaH || 3-199-28 ||
