बरह्मणानां परिभवाद वतापिश च दुरात्मवान अगस्त्यम ऋषिम आसाद्य जीर्णः करूरॊ महासुरः ॥ ३-१९७-२६ ॥
'It was for his disregard of the Brahmanas that the great Asura, the wicked and evil-minded Vatapi, was consumed when he came into contact with Agastya.' ॥ 3-197-26 ॥
