स च ताव अश्वौ परतिगृह्यानुज्ञाप्य चर्षिं परायाद वाम्य संयुक्तेन रथेन मृगं परति गच्छंश चाब्रवीत सूतम अश्वरत्नाव इमाव अयॊग्यौ बराह्मणानाम नैतौ परतिदेयौ वामदेवायेति ॥ ३-१९०-५२ ॥
'The king, having taken the steeds and obtained the sage's permission, yoked the Vami pair to his chariot and pursued the deer. After leaving the hermitage, he spoke to his charioteer: 'These steed-jewels do not deserve to be in the possession of the Brahmanas. They should not be returned to Vamadeva.'' ॥ 3-190-52 ॥
