स गत्वा वामदेवाश्रमं तम ऋषिम अब्रवीत भगवन मृगॊ मया विद्धः पालयते तं संभावयेयम अर्हसि मे वाम्य दातुम इति ॥ ३-१९०-५० ॥
'And reaching the hermitage of Vamadeva, the king said to the sage: 'O holy one, a deer struck by me is fleeing. It is your duty to make it possible for me to seize it by granting me your pair of Vami horses.'' ॥ 3-190-50 ॥
