[वा] शाल्व बाणार्दिते तस्मिन परद्युम्ने बलिनां वरे वृष्णयॊ भग्नसंकल्पा विव्यथुः पृतना गताः ॥ ३-१९-१ ॥
'Vasudeva continued, "O king, when Pradyumna, struck by Salwa's arrows, fell senseless, the Vrishnis who had come to the battlefield were overwhelmed with despair and grief."' ॥ 3-19-1 ॥
english translation
[vA] zAlva bANArdite tasmina paradyumne balinAM vare vRSNayò bhagnasaMkalpA vivyathuH pRtanA gatAH ॥ 3-19-1 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptहाहाकृतम अभूत सार्वं वृष्ण्यन्धकबलं तदा परद्युम्ने पतिते राजन परे च मुदिताभवन ॥ ३-१९-२ ॥
'The warriors of the Vrishni and Andhaka clans cried out in lamentation, 'Oh!' and 'Alas!' Meanwhile, the enemy rejoiced at the sight.' ॥ 3-19-2 ॥
english translation
hAhAkRtama abhUta sArvaM vRSNyandhakabalaM tadA paradyumne patite rAjana pare ca muditAbhavana ॥ 3-19-2 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतं तथा मॊहितं दृष्ट्वा सारथिर जवनैर हयैः रणाद अपाहरत तूर्णं शिक्षितॊ दारुकिस ततः ॥ ३-१९-३ ॥
'Meanwhile, the enemy rejoiced at the sight. Seeing Pradyumna deprived of consciousness, his skilled charioteer, the son of Daruka, swiftly removed him from the battlefield with the help of his steeds.' ॥ 3-19-3 ॥

taM tathA mòhitaM dRSTvA sArathira javanaira hayaiH raNAda apAharata tUrNaM zikSitò dArukisa tataH ॥ 3-19-3 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptन तिदूरापयाते तु रथे रथवरप्रणुत धनुर गृहीत्वा यन्तारं लब्धसंज्ञॊ ऽबरवीद इदम ॥ ३-१९-४ ॥
'Not far from the chariot, the charioteer, having seized the bow, addressed the driver, who had regained his senses, with the following words:' ॥ 3-19-4 ॥

na tidUrApayAte tu rathe rathavarapraNuta dhanura gRhItvA yantAraM labdhasaMjJò 'baravIda idama ॥ 3-19-4 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसौते किं ते वयवसितं कस्माद यासि पराङ्मुखः नैष वृष्णिप्रवीराणाम आहवे धर्म उच्यते ॥ ३-१९-५ ॥
'O son of the Suta tribe, what is this you are doing? Why are you leaving the battlefield? Such conduct is unbecoming of the Vrishni heroes in combat!' ॥ 3-19-5 ॥

saute kiM te vayavasitaM kasmAda yAsi parAGmukhaH naiSa vRSNipravIrANAma Ahave dharma ucyate ॥ 3-19-5 ॥
