तेन विद्धॊ महाबाहुः परद्युम्नः समरे सथितः जत्रु देशे भृशं वीरॊ वयवासीदद रथे तदा ॥ ३-१८-२१ ॥
'The valiant Pradyumna, struck by his foe's arrows, was severely wounded around his throat and grew weakened on his chariot.' ॥ 3-18-21 ॥

तं स विद्ध्वा महाराज शाल्वॊ रुक्मिणिनन्दनम ननाद सिंहनादं वै नादेनापूरयन महीम ॥ ३-१८-२२ ॥
'Salwa, roaring like a lion, filled the earth with his battle cry as he inflicted further wounds on Pradyumna.' ॥ 3-18-22 ॥

ततॊ मॊहं समापन्ने तनये मम भारत मुमॊच बाणांस तवरितः पुनर अन्यान दुरासदान ॥ ३-१८-२३ ॥
'Then, as my son fell into a swoon, Salwa, swiftly recovering, released a fresh volley of arrows, formidable and difficult to withstand.' ॥ 3-18-23 ॥

स तैर अभिहतॊ बाणैर बहुभिस तेन मॊहितः निश्चेष्टः कौरवश्रेष्ठ परद्युम्नॊ ऽभूद रणाजिरम ॥ ३-१८-२४ ॥
'Overwhelmed and rendered senseless by a relentless barrage of arrows, Pradyumna lay motionless on the battlefield.' ॥ 3-18-24 ॥
