अट्टशूला जनपदाः शिव शूलाश चतुष्पथाः केशशूलाः सत्रियश चापि भविष्यन्ति युगक्षये ॥ ३-१८८-५१ ॥

'In the end times (yugakshaya), The countries will be afflicted with famine/suffering (attashula), The crossroads will be filled with (Shiva's) tridents (shula), And women will be tormented by their hair (keshashula).' ॥ 3-188-51 ॥

aTTazUlA janapadAH ziva zUlAza catuSpathAH kezazUlAH satriyaza cApi bhaviSyanti yugakSaye ॥ 3-188-51 ॥

मलेच्छाः करूराः सर्वभक्षा दारुणाः सर्वकर्मसु भाविनः पश्चिमे काले मनुष्या नात्र संशयः ॥ ३-१८८-५२ ॥

'In the future time (coming western age), People will become mlecchas (barbarians/outcasts), They will be cruel and eat everything (non-discriminating in food), They will be harsh/terrible in all their actions, Of this there is no doubt.' ॥ 3-188-52 ॥

malecchAH karUrAH sarvabhakSA dAruNAH sarvakarmasu bhAvinaH pazcime kAle manuSyA nAtra saMzayaH ॥ 3-188-52 ॥

करयविक्रयकाले च सर्वः सर्वस्य वञ्चनम युगान्ते भरतश्रेष्ठ वृत्ति लॊभात करिष्यति ॥ ३-१८८-५३ ॥

'And, O foremost of the Bharatas, driven by avarice, people will deceive one another during trade and transactions. Driven by greed for livelihood, all will resort to dishonest practices.' ॥ 3-188-53 ॥

karayavikrayakAle ca sarvaH sarvasya vaJcanama yugAnte bharatazreSTha vRtti lòbhAta kariSyati ॥ 3-188-53 ॥

जञानानि चाप्य अविज्ञाय करिष्यन्ति करियास तथा आत्मछन्देन वर्तन्ते युगान्ते पर्युपस्थिते ॥ ३-१८८-५४ ॥

'Lacking knowledge of sacred ordinances, they will perform ceremonies and rites as they please, disregarding established traditions and behaving according to their whims as the Yuga comes to an end.' ॥ 3-188-54 ॥

jaJAnAni cApya avijJAya kariSyanti kariyAsa tathA Atmachandena vartante yugAnte paryupasthite ॥ 3-188-54 ॥

सवभावात करूरकर्माणश चान्यॊन्यम अभिशङ्किनः भवितारॊ जनाः सर्वे संप्राप्ते युगसंक्षये ॥ ३-१८८-५५ ॥

'By nature (svabhāvāt), people will become cruel in their actions and suspicious of one another. At the end of the Yuga (yuga-saṅkṣaye), all humanity will exhibit these traits.' ॥ 3-188-55 ॥
