ततॊ माम अब्रवीद वीर स बालः परहसन्न इव शरीवत्स धारी दयुतिमान पीतवासा महाद्युतिः ॥ ३-१८६-११६ ॥

'Then, that young boy, as if smiling, spoke to me, wearing the mark of Sreevatsa, radiating brilliance, and dressed in yellow, with great splendor.' ॥ 3-186-116 ॥

english translation

tatò mAma abravIda vIra sa bAlaH parahasanna iva zarIvatsa dhArI dayutimAna pItavAsA mahAdyutiH ॥ 3-186-116 ॥

अपीदानीं शरीरे ऽसमिन मामके मुनिसत्तम उषितस तवं सुविश्रान्तॊ मार्कण्डेय बरवीहि मे ॥ ३-१८६-११७ ॥

'O Markandeya, O best of the sages, having dwelt for some time within my body, you must have grown fatigued! I shall, however, speak to you.' ॥ 3-186-117 ॥

apIdAnIM zarIre 'samina mAmake munisattama uSitasa tavaM suvizrAntò mArkaNDeya baravIhi me ॥ 3-186-117 ॥

मुहूर्ताद अथ मे दृष्टिः परादुर्भूता पुनर नवा यया निर्मुक्तम आत्मानम अपश्यं लब्धचेतसम ॥ ३-१८६-११८ ॥

'And as he spoke these words to me, at that very moment, I acquired a new vision, through which I saw myself endowed with true knowledge and freed from the illusions of the world.' ॥ 3-186-118 ॥

muhUrtAda atha me dRSTiH parAdurbhUtA punara navA yayA nirmuktama AtmAnama apazyaM labdhacetasama ॥ 3-186-118 ॥

तस्य ताम्रतलौ तात चरणौ सुप्रतिष्ठितौ सुजातौ मृदु रक्ताभिर अङ्गुलीभिर अलंकृतौ ॥ ३-१८६-११९ ॥

'His revered and well-shaped feet, with soles bright as burnished copper, adorned with mild red toes.' ॥ 3-186-119 ॥

tasya tAmratalau tAta caraNau supratiSThitau sujAtau mRdu raktAbhira aGgulIbhira alaMkRtau ॥ 3-186-119 ॥

परयतेन मया मूर्ध्ना गृहीत्वा हय अभिवन्दितौ दृष्ट्वापरिमितं तस्य परभावम अमितौजसः ॥ ३-१८६-१२० ॥

'With great devotion, I took hold of His feet with my head bowed in reverence, and having witnessed the immeasurable power of His, I marveled at the vastness of His energy and might.' ॥ 3-186-120 ॥

parayatena mayA mUrdhnA gRhItvA haya abhivanditau dRSTvAparimitaM tasya parabhAvama amitaujasaH ॥ 3-186-120 ॥
