तत्र सम वाचं कल्याणीं धर्मकामार्थ संहिताम मयॊक्ताम अन्यथा बरूयुस ततस ते वै निरर्थकाम ॥ ३-१८३-८ ॥

sanskrit

'There, if I were to speak words that are auspicious, in harmony with righteousness, desire, and wealth, they would interpret them differently. As a result, their words would be of no benefit.' ॥ 3-183-8 ॥

english translation

tatra sama vAcaM kalyANIM dharmakAmArtha saMhitAma mayòktAma anyathA barUyusa tatasa te vai nirarthakAma ॥ 3-183-8 ॥
