तेषां पुण्यतमा रात्रिः पर्व संधौ सम शारदी तत्रैव वसताम आसीत कार्तिकी जनमेजय ॥ ३-१७९-१६ ॥
'And, O Janamejaya, they spent the holiest night—the full moon night of Kartika, during the autumn season—while dwelling there.' ॥ 3-179-16 ॥

पुण्यकृद्भिर महासत्त्वैस तापसैः सह पाण्डवाः तत सर्वं भरतश्रेष्ठाः समूहुर यॊगम उत्तमम ॥ ३-१७९-१७ ॥
'The sons of Pandu, the finest of Bharata’s descendants, spent that auspicious time with righteous and noble ascetics devoted to penance.' ॥ 3-179-17 ॥

तमिस्राभ्युदिते तस्मिन धौम्येन सह पाण्डवाः सूतैः पौरॊगवैश चैव काम्यकं परययुर वनम ॥ ३-१७९-१८ ॥
'As soon as the dark fortnight began, they entered the Kamyaka forest, accompanied by Dhananjaya, their charioteers, and cooks.' ॥ 3-179-18 ॥
