तान अहं निशितैर बाणैर वयधमं गार्ध्रवाजितैः ते युद्धे संन्यवर्तन्त समुद्रस्य यथॊर्मयः ॥ ३-१७०-३१ ॥
'With sharpened shafts adorned with vulture feathers, I destroyed their chariots. Seeing this, they thought, 'Our forces are invincible to mortals,' and, like the surging waves of the sea, they plunged into the battle.' ॥ 3-170-31 ॥

नेमे शक्या मानुषेण युद्धेनेति परचिन्त्य वै ततॊ ऽहम आनुपूर्व्येण सर्वाण्य अस्त्राण्य अयॊजयम ॥ ३-१७०-३२ ॥
'Considering that they could not be defeated by mortals in battle, I then, in due order, prepared all my weapons.' ॥ 3-170-32 ॥

ततस तानि सहस्राणि रथानां चित्रयॊधिनाम अस्त्राणि मम दिव्यानि परत्यघ्नञ शनकैर इव ॥ ३-१७०-३३ ॥
'On the battlefield, I witnessed hundreds and thousands of powerful demons maneuvering on their chariots, engaging in various formations.' ॥ 3-170-33 ॥

रथमार्गान विचित्रांस ते विचरन्तॊ महारथाः परत्यदृश्यन्त संग्रामे शतशॊ ऽथ सहस्रशः ॥ ३-१७०-३४ ॥
'The great warriors (maharathas), moving along the intricate/diverse paths of chariots, were seen in the battlefield by hundreds and thousands.' ॥ 3-170-34 ॥

विचित्रमुकुटापीडा विचित्रकवच धवजाः विचित्राभरणाश चैव नन्दयन्तीव मे मनः ॥ ३-१७०-३५ ॥
'Adorned with variegated armor, banners, and various ornaments, they captivated my mind.' ॥ 3-170-35 ॥
