sanskrit

'And when the world was engulfed in profound and dense darkness, the steeds recoiled in fear, Mātali was thrown off, and the golden lash slipped from his hand, falling to the earth.' ।। 3-168-14 ।।

english translation

tamasA saMvRte lòke ghòreNa paruSeNa ca turagA vimukhAza cAsana parAskhalaca cApi mAtaliH || 3-168-14 ||
