[वै] एतद आत्महितं शरुत्वा तस्याप्रतिम तेजसः शासनं सततं चक्रुस तथैव भरतर्षभाः ॥ ३-१५७-६ ॥
'Vaisampayana continued, "Having received that counsel, which was of immense benefit to them, from the one of unparalleled energy, Arshtishena, the foremost of the Bharatas began to follow it consistently."' ॥ 3-157-6 ॥
english translation
भुञ्जाना मुनिभॊज्यानि रसवन्ति फलानि च शुद्धबाणहतानां च मृगाणां पिशितान्य अपि ॥ ३-१५७-७ ॥
'The Pandavas, those best of men, resided on the Himavan, subsisting on the food of the Munis, sweet fruits, the flesh of deer slain with untainted arrows, and various kinds of pure honey.' ॥ 3-157-7 ॥

मेध्यानि हिमवत्पृष्ठे मधूनि विविधानि च एवं ते नयवसंस तत्र पाण्डवा भरतर्षभाः ॥ ३-१५७-८ ॥
'On the mountain slopes of Himavan, they enjoyed various kinds of honey and other delicacies. Thus, the Pandavas, O best of the Bharatas, lived there.' ॥ 3-157-8 ॥

तथा निवसतां तेषां पञ्चमं वर्षम अभ्यगात शृण्वतां लॊमशॊक्तानि वाक्यानि विविधानि च ॥ ३-१५७-९ ॥
'Thus, as the Pandavas lived there, the fifth year arrived, and they heard various words of wisdom spoken by Lomasha, a sage, who narrated different teachings.' ॥ 3-157-9 ॥

कृत्यकाल उपस्थास्य इति चॊक्त्वा घटॊत्कचः राक्षसैः सहितः सर्वैः पूर्वम एव गतः परभॊ ॥ ३-१५७-१० ॥
'"O lord, saying, 'I shall be present when the occasion arises,' Ghatotkacha, along with all the Rakshasas, had already departed beforehand."' ॥ 3-157-10 ॥
