तद रूपं महद आलक्ष्य भरातुः कौरवनन्दनः विसिस्मिये तदा भीमॊ जहृषे च पुनः पुनः ॥ ३-१४९-६ ॥
'The son of the Kurus, Bhima, gazed in awe at his brother's gigantic form, his hair standing on end.' ॥ 3-149-6 ॥
english translation
तम अर्कम इव तेजॊभिः सौवर्णम इव पर्वतम परदीप्तम इव चाकाशं दृष्ट्वा भीमॊ नयमीलयत ॥ ३-१४९-७ ॥
'As he beheld him, shining like the sun, a golden mountain, and the blazing sky, Bhima, overwhelmed, closed his eyes.' ॥ 3-149-7 ॥
english translation
आबभाषे च हनुमान भीमसेनं समयन्न इव एतावद इह शक्तस तवं रूपं दरष्टुं ममानघ ॥ ३-१४९-८ ॥
'Thereupon, Hanuman smiled and addressed Bhima, saying, 'O sinless one, you are able to behold my form only to this extent.'' ॥ 3-149-8 ॥
english translation
वर्धे ऽहं चाप्य अतॊ भूयॊ यावन मे मनसेप्सितम भीम शत्रुषु चात्यर्थं वर्धते मूर्तिर ओजसा ॥ ३-१४९-९ ॥
'I can continue to expand my size as long as I desire. And, O Bhima, in the presence of foes, my form grows immensely by its own power.' ॥ 3-149-9 ॥
english translation
तद अद्भुतं महारौद्रं विन्ध्यमन्दर संनिभम दृष्ट्वा हनूमतॊ वर्ष्म संभ्रान्तः पवनात्म जः ॥ ३-१४९-१० ॥
'Vaisampayana said, "Beholding the terrifying and wondrous form of Hanuman, resembling the Vindhya mountain, the son of the wind-god was filled with bewilderment."' ॥ 3-149-10 ॥
