ततॊ ऽनये च चतुर्वेदास तरिवेदाश च तथापरे दविवेदाश चैकवेदाश चाप्य अनृचश च तथापरे ॥ ३-१४८-२७ ॥
'Some individuals preserve the knowledge of all four Vedas, while others are proficient in three, two, or even a single Veda. Yet, there are also those unfamiliar with even the Rigvedic hymns.' ॥ 3-148-27 ॥
