हृतदारः सह भरात्रा पत्नीं मार्गन सराघवः दृष्टवाञ शैलशिखरे सुग्रीवं वानरर्षभम ॥ ३-१४७-३१ ॥
'Hanuman said, "After his wife was abducted, that descendant of Raghu, while searching for her with his brother, encountered Sugriva, the chief of the monkeys, on the summit of the mountain."' ॥ 3-147-31 ॥
english translation
hRtadAraH saha bharAtrA patnIM mArgana sarAghavaH dRSTavAJa zailazikhare sugrIvaM vAnararSabhama ॥ 3-147-31 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतेन तस्याभवत सख्यं रागवस्य महात्मनः स हत्वा वालिनं राज्ये सुग्रीवं परत्यपादयत स हरीन परेषयाम आस सीतायाः परिमार्गने ॥ ३-१४७-३२ ॥
'Then a friendship was formed between him and the high-souled Raghava. After slaying Vali, Rama installed Sugriva as the ruler of the kingdom. Having secured the throne, Sugriva sent forth hundreds and thousands of monkeys in search of Sita.' ॥ 3-147-32 ॥

tena tasyAbhavata sakhyaM rAgavasya mahAtmanaH sa hatvA vAlinaM rAjye sugrIvaM paratyapAdayata sa harIna pareSayAma Asa sItAyAH parimArgane ॥ 3-147-32 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततॊ वानरकॊतीभिर यां वयं परस्थिता दिशम तत्र परवृत्तिः सीताया गृध्रेण परतिपादिता ॥ ३-१४७-३३ ॥
'O best of men, I too, accompanied by countless monkeys, journeyed southward in search of Sita, O mighty-armed one. Then, a mighty vulture named Sampati revealed the news that Sita was in the abode of Ravana.' ॥ 3-147-33 ॥

tatò vAnarakòtIbhira yAM vayaM parasthitA dizama tatra paravRttiH sItAyA gRdhreNa paratipAditA ॥ 3-147-33 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततॊ ऽहं कार्यसिद्ध्यर्थं रामस्याक्लिष्टकर्मणाः शतयॊजनविस्तीर्णम अर्णवं सहसाप्लुतः ॥ ३-१४७-३४ ॥
'Then, with the aim of ensuring success for Rama, I suddenly leapt over the vast ocean, which stretches for a hundred yojanas.' ॥ 3-147-34 ॥

tatò 'haM kAryasiddhyarthaM rAmasyAkliSTakarmaNAH zatayòjanavistIrNama arNavaM sahasAplutaH ॥ 3-147-34 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदृष्टा सा च मया देवी रावणस्य निवेशने परत्यागतश चापि पुनर नाम तत्र परकाश्य वै ॥ ३-१४७-३५ ॥
'And, O chief of the Bharatas, having crossed that ocean, the dwelling place of sharks and crocodiles, by my own power, I beheld in Ravana's abode the daughter of King Janaka, Sita, resembling a celestial maiden' ॥ 3-147-35 ॥
