ततॊ रामेण वीरेण हत्वा तान सर्वराक्षसान पुनः परत्याहृता भार्या नष्टा वेदश्रुतिर यथा ।। ३-१४७-३६ ।।

sanskrit

'Then, by the valiant Rama, having killed all the demons, his wife was brought back again, like the lost Vedic scripture.' ।। 3-147-36 ।।

english translation

tatò rAmeNa vIreNa hatvA tAna sarvarAkSasAna punaH paratyAhRtA bhAryA naSTA vedazrutira yathA || 3-147-36 ||

'Then Rama, the son of Raghu, along with his devoted wife, returned to his impregnable city, Ayodhya, and took up his residence there as the sovereign of men. Established firmly in his kingdom, Rama, the foremost of kings, ruled with justice. Afterward, I sought a boon from the lotus-eyed Rama, saying, "O slayer of foes, may I live as long as the tale of thy deeds endures on this earth!"' ।। 3-147-37 ।।

tataH paratiSThite rAme vIrò 'yaM yAcitò mayA yAvada rAmakathA vIra bhavela lòkeSu zatruhana tAvaja jIveyama itya evaM tathAstva iti ca sò 'baravIta || 3-147-37 ||

'Thereupon, he said, "So be it. O Bhima, the represser of foes, by the grace of Sita, all delightful amenities are provided to me here, for those who dwell in this place. Rama reigned for a thousand years and a hundred more." Then he ascended to his own abode.' ।। 3-147-38 ।।

'O son of the Kurus, this path is impassable to mortals. Therefore, O Bharata, with the intention that none might harm or curse thee, I have blocked your way to this sacred path, trod by the immortals.' ।। 3-147-40 ।।

ayaM ca mArgò martyAnAma agamyaH kurunandana tatò 'haM ruddhavAna mArgaM tavemaM devasevitama dharSayeda vA zapeda vApi mA kaza cida iti bhArata || 3-147-40 ||
