ततॊ ऽबरवीद भीमम उदारवीर्यं; कृष्णां यत्तः पालय भीमसेन शून्ये ऽरजुने ऽसंनिहिते च तात; तवम एव कृष्णां भजसे ऽसुखेषु ॥ ३-१४०-१६ ॥
'Vaisampayana said, "He then turned to his brother Bhima, possessed of immense strength, and said, 'O Bhimasena, safeguard Krishna with utmost care. Whether Arjuna is present or absent, in times of peril, it is you alone whom Krishna relies upon for protection.'" ॥ 3-140-16 ॥

ततॊ महात्मा यमजौ समेत्य; मूर्धन्य उपाघ्राय विमृज्य गात्रे उवाच तौ भाष्प कलं स राजा; मा भैष्टम आगच्छतम अप्रमत्तौ ॥ ३-१४०-१७ ॥
'Then the noble-hearted monarch approached the twins, Nakula and Sahadeva. He kissed their heads affectionately and gently wiped their limbs. With tears in his eyes, he said, 'Fear not, but proceed with care and vigilance.'' ॥ 3-140-17 ॥
