किं नु मे नाग्नयः शूद्र परतिनन्दन्ति दर्शनम तवं चापि न यथापूर्वं कच चित कषेमम इहाश्रमे ॥ ३-१३८-४ ॥
'O Shudra, why do the sacred fires no longer greet me with their usual joy? Even you seem unlike yourself, lacking the cheer I am accustomed to seeing. Is everything well with my hermitage?' ॥ 3-138-4 ॥
