स निमित्ते विनस्ते तु ममार सहसा शिशुः तं मृतं पुत्रम आदाय विललाप ततः पिता ॥ ३-१३६-११ ॥

'In that very cause, the child perished suddenly. Grief-stricken, the father took up his dead son and lamented deeply.' ॥ 3-136-11 ॥

english translation

sa nimitte vinaste tu mamAra sahasA zizuH taM mRtaM putrama AdAya vilalApa tataH pitA ॥ 3-136-11 ॥

लालप्यमानं तं दृष्ट्वा मुनयः पुनर आर्तवत ऊचुर वेदॊक्तया पूर्वं गाथया तन निबॊध मे ॥ ३-१३६-१२ ॥

'Now, O my son, listen to what the sages, versed in the Vedas, chanted upon witnessing the sage's lamentation.' ॥ 3-136-12 ॥

english translation

lAlapyamAnaM taM dRSTvA munayaH punara Artavata Ucura vedòktayA pUrvaM gAthayA tana nibòdha me ॥ 3-136-12 ॥

न दिष्टम अर्थम अत्येतुम ईशॊ मर्त्यः कथं चन महिषैर भेदयाम आस धनुषाक्षॊ महीधरान ॥ ३-१३६-१३ ॥

'A mortal, under no circumstances, can defy what has been ordained by Fate. Behold, Dhannushaksha was able to shatter even the mountain with buffaloes.' ॥ 3-136-13 ॥

english translation

na diSTama arthama atyetuma Izò martyaH kathaM cana mahiSaira bhedayAma Asa dhanuSAkSò mahIdharAna ॥ 3-136-13 ॥

एवं लब्ध्वा वरान बाला दर्पपूर्णास तरस्विनः कषिप्रम एव विनश्यन्ति यथा न सयात तथा भवान ॥ ३-१३६-१४ ॥

'Thus having obtained boons, (these) powerful youths, filled with pride, quickly perish. May you not be like that/may it not happen to you.' ॥ 3-136-14 ॥

english translation

evaM labdhvA varAna bAlA darpapUrNAsa tarasvinaH kaSiprama eva vinazyanti yathA na sayAta tathA bhavAna ॥ 3-136-14 ॥

एष रैभ्यॊ महावीर्यः पुत्रौ चास्य तथा विभौ तं यथा पुत्र नाभ्येषि तथा कुर्यास तव अतन्द्रितः ॥ ३-१३६-१५ ॥

'This is the mighty (mahaveerya) Raibhya and his two illustrious sons. O son, be vigilant/alert that you do not approach/confront him.' ॥ 3-136-15 ॥

english translation

eSa raibhyò mahAvIryaH putrau cAsya tathA vibhau taM yathA putra nAbhyeSi tathA kuryAsa tava atandritaH ॥ 3-136-15 ॥
