दशा दशॊक्ताः पुरुषस्य लॊके; सहस्रम आहुर दश पूर्णं शतानि दशैव मासान बिभ्रति गर्भवत्यॊ; दशेरका दश दाशा दशार्णाः ॥ ३-१३४-१६ ॥
'Ashtavakra said, "Ten is the number of cardinal directions, known to the minds of men in this world; ten times a hundred make a thousand; ten are the months during which women carry their child; ten are the teachers of true knowledge, and ten are those who oppose it; and ten again are those capable of learning it."' ॥ 3-134-16 ॥

एकादशैकादशिनः पशूनाम; एकादशैवात्र भवन्ति यूपाः एकादश पराणभृतां विकारा; एकादशॊक्ता दिवि देवेषु रुद्राः ॥ ३-१३४-१७ ॥
'Ashtavakra said, "Eleven are the objects enjoyed by living beings; eleven are the stakes used in sacrifice; eleven represent the transformations of the vital forces in the living; and eleven are the Rudras among the gods in the heavens."' ॥ 3-134-17 ॥

संवत्सरं दवादश मासम आहुर; जगत्याः पादॊ दवादशैवाक्षराणि दवादशाहः पराकृतॊ यज्ञ उक्तॊ; दवादशादित्यान कथयन्तीह विप्राः ॥ ३-१३४-१८ ॥
'Ashtavakra said, "Twelve months make up the year; twelve syllables form the feet of the Jagati metre; twelve are the minor sacrifices; and twelve, according to the wise, are the Adityas."' ॥ 3-134-18 ॥

तरयॊदशी तिथिर उक्ता महॊग्रा; तरयॊदशद्वीपवती मही च ॥ ३-१३४-१९ ॥
'Vandin replied, "The thirteenth lunar day is regarded as the most auspicious; and there are thirteen islands on the earth."' ॥ 3-134-19 ॥

एतावद उक्त्वा विरराम बन्दी; शलॊकस्यार्धं वयाजहाराष्टवक्रः तरयॊदशाहानि ससार केशी; तरयॊदशादीन्य अतिच्छन्दांसि चाहुः ॥ ३-१३४-२० ॥
'Lomasa said, "Having spoken thus far, Vandin fell silent. Thereupon, Ashtavakra completed the verse. He said, 'Thirteen sacrifices are presided over by Kesi, and thirteen are consumed by the Atichhandas, the longer metres of the Veda.'"' ॥ 3-134-20 ॥
