स वै तथा वक्र एवाभ्यजायद; अष्टावक्रः परथितॊ वै महर्षिः तस्यासीद वै मातुलः शवेतकेतुः; स तेन तुल्यॊ वयसा बभूव ॥ ३-१३२-१० ॥
'The child was thus born with a crooked body, and the great sage came to be known as Aṣṭāvakra from that moment on. He had an uncle named Śvetaketu, who was of the same age as him.' ॥ 3-132-10 ॥
