तस्य सम यूपान यज्ञेषु भराजमानान हिरन मयान सवयम उत्थापयाम आसुर देवाः सेन्द्रा युधिष्ठिर ।। ३-१२१-६ ।।

sanskrit

'On each sacrificial stake, seven golden rings were affixed at the top. And, O Yudhishthira! the celestial beings, along with Indra, themselves raised the resplendent golden stakes that had been prepared for his sacred rites.' ।। 3-121-6 ।।

english translation

tasya sama yUpAna yajJeSu bharAjamAnAna hirana mayAna savayama utthApayAma Asura devAH sendrA yudhiSThira || 3-121-6 ||

तेषु तस्य मखाग्र्येषु गयस्य पृथिवीपतेः अमाद्यद इन्द्रः सॊमेन दक्षिणाभिर दविजातयः ।। ३-१२१-७ ।।

sanskrit

'In all those splendid sacrifices conducted by Gaya, the protector of the earth, Indra was delighted as he partook of the Soma juice, and the officiating priests were generously rewarded with offerings made to them.' ।। 3-121-7 ।।

english translation

teSu tasya makhAgryeSu gayasya pRthivIpateH amAdyada indraH sòmena dakSiNAbhira davijAtayaH || 3-121-7 ||

सिकता वा यथा लॊके यथा वा दिवि तारकाः यथा वा वर्षतॊ धारा असंख्येयाश च केन चित ।। ३-१२१-८ ।।

sanskrit

'The priests received an immeasurable wealth, meticulously counted out to them. Just as the grains of sand on the earth, the stars in the sky, or the countless raindrops that fall during a downpour cannot be enumerated by anyone, so too was the wealth bestowed by Gaya beyond all measure.' ।। 3-121-8 ।।

english translation

sikatA vA yathA lòke yathA vA divi tArakAH yathA vA varSatò dhArA asaMkhyeyAza ca kena cita || 3-121-8 ||

तथैव तद असंख्येयं धनं यत परददौ गयः सदस्येभ्यॊ महाराज तेषु यज्ञेषु सप्तसु ।। ३-१२१-९ ।।

sanskrit

'The wealth bestowed upon the ministering priests in those seven sacrifices was so immense, O great king, that while the previously mentioned items could be quantified, the gratuities given by Gaya.' ।। 3-121-9 ।।

english translation

tathaiva tada asaMkhyeyaM dhanaM yata paradadau gayaH sadasyebhyò mahArAja teSu yajJeSu saptasu || 3-121-9 ||

भवेत संख्येयम एतद वै यद एतत परिकीर्तितम न सा शक्या तु संख्यातुं दक्षिणा दक्षिणा वतः ।। ३-१२१-१० ।।

'This wealth, indeed, may be counted as described, but the gratuities given are simply beyond enumeration.' ।। 3-121-10 ।।

bhaveta saMkhyeyama etada vai yada etata parikIrtitama na sA zakyA tu saMkhyAtuM dakSiNA dakSiNA vataH || 3-121-10 ||
