स तेषु तीर्थेष्व अभिषिक्त गात्रः; कृष्णा सहायः सहितॊ ऽनुजैश च संपूजयन विक्रमम अर्जुनस्य; रेमे महीपाल पतिः पृथिव्याम ॥ ३-११८-६ ॥

'And, O protector of the earth! The ruler of the world, accompanied by Krishna, bathed in those sacred sites. While extolling Arjuna's valor, he joyfully spent his time in that blessed place.' ॥ 3-118-6 ॥

english translation

sa teSu tIrtheSva abhiSikta gAtraH; kRSNA sahAyaH sahitò 'nujaiza ca saMpUjayana vikramama arjunasya; reme mahIpAla patiH pRthivyAma ॥ 3-118-6 ॥

ततः सहस्राणि गवां परदाय; तीर्थेषु तेष्व अम्बुधरॊत्तमस्य हृष्टः सह भरातृभिर अर्जुनस्य; संकीर्तयाम आस गवां परदानम ॥ ३-११८-७ ॥

'Then, at those sacred sites along the coast, he generously gave away thousands of cows. Delighted, he and his brothers recounted the story of Arjuna's charitable gift of kine.' ॥ 3-118-7 ॥

tataH sahasrANi gavAM paradAya; tIrtheSu teSva ambudharòttamasya hRSTaH saha bharAtRbhira arjunasya; saMkIrtayAma Asa gavAM paradAnama ॥ 3-118-7 ॥

स तानि तीर्थानि च सागरस्य; पुण्यानि चान्यानि बहूनि राजन करमेण गच्छन परिपूर्णकामः; शूर्पारकं पुण्यतमं ददर्श ॥ ३-११८-८ ॥

'The king visited each of these holy places and many others, fulfilling his heart's desire, until he reached the most sacred of all, known as Suparaka.' ॥ 3-118-8 ॥

sa tAni tIrthAni ca sAgarasya; puNyAni cAnyAni bahUni rAjana karameNa gacchana paripUrNakAmaH; zUrpArakaM puNyatamaM dadarza ॥ 3-118-8 ॥

तत्रॊदधेः कं चिद अतीत्य देशं; खयातं पृथिव्यां वनम आससाद तप्तं सुरैर यत्र तपः पुरस्ताद; इष्टं तथा पुण्यतमैर नरेन्द्रैः ॥ ३-११८-९ ॥

'After crossing a stretch along the coast of the sea, he arrived at a forest renowned on earth. There, in times past, the deities had practiced asceticism, and virtuous rulers of men had conducted sacrificial rites.' ॥ 3-118-9 ॥

tatròdadheH kaM cida atItya dezaM; khayAtaM pRthivyAM vanama AsasAda taptaM suraira yatra tapaH purastAda; iSTaM tathA puNyatamaira narendraiH ॥ 3-118-9 ॥

स तत्र ताम अग्र्यधनुर्धरस्य; वेदीं ददर्शायतपीनबाहुः ऋचीक पुत्रस्य तपॊ वि संघैः; समावृतां पुण्यकृद अर्चनीयाम ॥ ३-११८-१० ॥

'There, he saw the celebrated altar of Richika's son, the foremost of all bowmen, with his long and powerful arms. The altar was surrounded by a multitude of ascetics and was worthy of worship by those leading a virtuous life.' ॥ 3-118-10 ॥

sa tatra tAma agryadhanurdharasya; vedIM dadarzAyatapInabAhuH RcIka putrasya tapò vi saMghaiH; samAvRtAM puNyakRda arcanIyAma ॥ 3-118-10 ॥
