तत्रॊदधेः कं चिद अतीत्य देशं; खयातं पृथिव्यां वनम आससाद तप्तं सुरैर यत्र तपः पुरस्ताद; इष्टं तथा पुण्यतमैर नरेन्द्रैः ।। ३-११८-९ ।।

sanskrit

'After crossing a stretch along the coast of the sea, he arrived at a forest renowned on earth. There, in times past, the deities had practiced asceticism, and virtuous rulers of men had conducted sacrificial rites.' ।। 3-118-9 ।।

english translation

tatròdadheH kaM cida atItya dezaM; khayAtaM pRthivyAM vanama AsasAda taptaM suraira yatra tapaH purastAda; iSTaM tathA puNyatamaira narendraiH || 3-118-9 ||
