कषत्रियॊ बराह्मणाचारॊ मातुस तव सुतॊ महान भविष्यति महावीर्यः साधूनां मार्गम आस्थितः ॥ ३-११५-२६ ॥
'To you will be born a son, who, though born into the priestly caste, will embody the character and duties of the warrior order. Likewise, a powerful son will be born to your mother, who, though a Kshatriya by birth, will take on a life suited to the priestly path.' ॥ 3-115-26 ॥
english translation
kaSatriyò barAhmaNAcArò mAtusa tava sutò mahAna bhaviSyati mahAvIryaH sAdhUnAM mArgama AsthitaH ॥ 3-115-26 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततः परसादयाम आस शवशुरं सा पुनः पुनः न मे पुत्रॊ भवेद ईदृक कामं पौत्रॊ भवेद इति ॥ ३-११५-२७ ॥
'She repeatedly implored her father-in-law, saying, 'Do not let my son possess this nature; rather, let it be my grandson who bears it.'' ॥ 3-115-27 ॥
english translation
tataH parasAdayAma Asa zavazuraM sA punaH punaH na me putrò bhaveda IdRka kAmaM pautrò bhaveda iti ॥ 3-115-27 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएवम अस्त्व इति सा तेन पाण्डव परतिनन्दिता जमदग्निं ततः पुत्रं सा जज्ञे काल आगते तेजसा वर्चसा वैच युक्तं भार्गवनन्दनम ॥ ३-११५-२८ ॥
'O son of Pandu, he replied, 'So be it!' and was pleased to grant her request. In due time, she gave birth to a son named Jamadagni. This son of Bhrigu was endowed with both brilliance and noble grace.' ॥ 3-115-28 ॥
english translation
evama astva iti sA tena pANDava paratinanditA jamadagniM tataH putraM sA jajJe kAla Agate tejasA varcasA vaica yuktaM bhArgavanandanama ॥ 3-115-28 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस वर्धमानस तेजॊ वी वेदस्याध्ययनेन वै बहून ऋषीन महातेजाः पाण्डवेयात्यवर्तत ॥ ३-११५-२९ ॥
'As he grew, that radiant one, with his intense brilliance and devotion to the study of the Vedas, surpassed many great sages, O descendant of Pandu.' ॥ 3-115-29 ॥

sa vardhamAnasa tejò vI vedasyAdhyayanena vai bahUna RSIna mahAtejAH pANDaveyAtyavartata ॥ 3-115-29 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतं तु कृत्स्नॊ धनुर्वेदः परत्यभाद भरतर्षभ चतुर्विधानि चास्त्राणि भाः करॊपम वर्चसम ॥ ३-११५-३० ॥
'O chief of Bharata’s line, his brilliance rivaled that of the sun itself. The entire knowledge of warfare, along with mastery over the four types of divine weapons, came to him naturally and without instruction.' ॥ 3-115-30 ॥

taM tu kRtsnò dhanurvedaH paratyabhAda bharatarSabha caturvidhAni cAstrANi bhAH karòpama varcasama ॥ 3-115-30 ॥
