स चापि सगरॊ राजा जगाम सवं निवेशनम पत्नीभ्यां सहितस तात सॊ ऽतिहृष्ट मनास तदा ॥ ३-१०४-१६ ॥
'King Sagara returned to his abode, accompanied by his two wives, filled with immense joy at the events that had transpired.' ॥ 3-104-16 ॥
english translation
तस्याथ मनुजश्रेष्ठ ते भार्ये कमलेक्षणे वैदर्भी चैव शैब्या च गर्भिण्यौ संबभूवतुः ॥ ३-१०४-१७ ॥
'And, O esteemed among the sons of Manu, soon the two lotus-eyed wives of that king—the princess of Vidarbha and the princess of Sivi—conceived and became with child.' ॥ 3-104-17 ॥

ततः कालेन वैदर्भी गर्भालाबुं वयजायत शैब्या च सुषुवे पुत्रं कुमारं देवरूपिणम ॥ ३-१०४-१८ ॥
'And thereafter, on the appointed day, the princess of Vidarbha delivered a gourd-shaped offspring, while the princess of Sivi gave birth to a son, whose beauty was akin to that of a god.' ॥ 3-104-18 ॥

तदालाबुं समुत्स्रष्टुं मनॊ चक्रे स पार्थिवः अथान्तरिक्षाच छुश्राव वाचं गम्भीरनिस्वनाम ॥ ३-१०४-१९ ॥
'As the ruler of the earth resolved to discard the gourd, he heard a grave and solemn voice emanating from the sky.' ॥ 3-104-19 ॥

राजन मा साहसं कार्षीः पुत्रान न तयक्तुम अर्हसि अलाबुमध्यान निष्कृष्य बीजं यत्नेन गॊप्यताम ॥ ३-१०४-२० ॥
'O king! Do not commit this hasty act; you must not forsake your sons. Carefully extract the seeds from the gourd and preserve them in vessels filled with ghee.' ॥ 3-104-20 ॥
